Hey there all.

I wanted to make this post regarding the futures of both this comic strip, and of all my comics work under my BIG POND COMICS banner!

First off is TALES TO AMAZE, the brand spankin’ new comic from myself and writer Marc Hammond. If you’ve seen the preview art above or gotten in on the discussion in the Creators Corner section of the forum, you know just how cool this project is gonna be. Marc and I are planning on pulling out all the stops to make this the best comic book we can. The decision has just been made that come hell or high water, we’re going to be making this book in full color, as Black and white just WOULDN’T do the title justice.

That said, I’m considering looking for someone who can help me by tackling the colors for this title. I’m looking for someone quick, high quality and willing to work, at least at first, for very little in terms of pay. (If this is YOU, drop me a line.)

Now, on the subject of good ol’ DANDY & COMPANY!! Fear not, I have no intention of letting this strip, my home for the past few years, suffer while I split my duties. In fact, I plan to make the strip more dynamic, exciting and funny than I ever have before. However, purists may be in for a shock, as my current plans for the POST- Beanie Quest III Dandyverse are loaded with changes. I can guarantee that some characters will be undergoing some big changes in appearance, and some characters may be saying “goodbye’” for the immediate future.

I like to keep things fresh and the status quo needs a good shake-up every now and again, so I hope you all plan to stick around to see what I put these guys through next!

Also, I’d like to announce here, that Disney Animator, Lon Smart is developing an awesome new comic book that I’m bringing in under the “Big Pond Comics” Umbrella. More details on THIS spiffy new production as things develop. And you can discuss this topic in the FORUM right now! Let me know what you think.

Welcome to DANDYCON 2005! For the remainder of August, I’ve decided to turn the Dandy & Co website into my own, personal Comic Convention! What does this mean? Well, like at a con, feel free to approach the artist and ask for a drawing. Seriously, for the rest of this month, I’ll be accepting COMMISSIONS for original art! Pretty much anything you want (Nothing NAUGHTY, you pervs ;) )

Just drop me an email at fishworks@cfl.rr.com with a request, and for a donation of $10.00 for a basic “Dandy & Co.” character, $25.00 for a Dandy & Co. group shot of the core cast drawn to YOUR specificatons or $50.00 for a MORE DETAILED, FINISHED ILLUSTRATION, such as the Con Drawing shown in THIS strip, of pretty much WHATEVER you want! You want Dandy, you got it! You want some other characters, it’s yours! Heck, with enough refrence, I’ll even draw your own characters or creations if you ask real nice!

This is the chance for anyone who’s wanted to get an original drawing at a con, but hasn’t been able to make it to Florida! Get those requests in NOW!

Details of commisisons requests: All artwork is made to fit an 8.5 x 11 workspace on illustration board. Buyers must provide $4.00 S/H for Domestic U.S. orders or $9.00 S/H for international orders. Thanks again. Donations can be made through PayPal at the DONATE menu option located above. Please do not pay for a commission by donating BEFORE the project has been approved by myself via Email. After the last few days of cosmic, no-holds-barred action, it was nice to step back and relax for a strip. Of course, in this case, while it’s much calmer, it required ALL the principle characters interacting to work.

Now, personally, I think Dandy’s comments in the first panel are funnier than the actual punchlne. I love doing strips like this, where the humore comes from all over thanks to good back and forth dialouge.

Heck, in the forums, you all figured this out WEEKS ago… which is fun for me because I can then skip the boring exposition and just go for the gag. In this case, we can see that Bernard has grown up a little since the first Beanie-Quest. He’s not so keen on giving up the super powers this time. Really, can you blame him.
