TOTALLY Total Chaos

Okay folks… I’m sure some of you are scratching your heads wondering just what’s going on this week?! No new strip on Monday? A Guest Strip on Tuesday?! (Albeit, an AWESOME one from
“Cow and Buffalo’s”, MIKE MAIHACK! Thanks a TON, Mike!)

This past weekend, as I blogged about below, I was at a comic convention in South Florida. (A 3 and a half hour drive from home.) The original plan was to wrap up the show on Sunday and head home that afternoon, so I wasn’t too worried about the new strip. Well, as it turned out I did REALLY, REALLY good at this show. SO good, that me and my lovely lady decided to treat ourselves to an extra night at the hotel, and return Monday morning. As such, I made a post on the gram letting you all know the strip would be late.

Well, that’s when the CHAOS really began. We ended up having lunch with some friends who live down there. (Occasional guest artist, Manny Aguilera and his lovely wife, Sue.) Well, THAT had us leading town later than expected… And a brush fire on the road HOME DOUBLED my drive time home.

So, rather than try and rush the strip out, I opted to run what WOULD have been Saturday’s TOTAL CHAOS. (Thanks again, Mike!) Fear not, though. I’m home and you’ll get a full five new strips this week. (Be sure to tune in Saturday and Sunday!)

Drawing a Blank

I DO so hate the occasional need for exposition in the strip, so I tend to draw an obnoxious amount of attention to the idea… It’s one of TWO lines that break the 4th wall in this strip. I also feel the need to mention the idea of Future Mistake, who has been brought up a bunch of times in the forum as a possible suspect in the identity of the mystery trucker.

Total Chaos by Chad Porter

Guys and gals, it’s been an INSANE week. It started off weird with my getting stuck on the road and missing the strip until Wednesday, and it’s ending even weirded. As it turns out, my “day job” was quite the cluster this week, as it was announced that we were moving out of our current office space… and then we did… in less than a week. So, most of this week, I’ve been not only doing the new strips, but also packing up my office AND still completing projects at said office. It’s been EXHAUSTING, and as such, I needed to step back and just take this weekend to try and get caught up. As such, I needed TOTAL CHAOS to save the day.

This is a CLASSIC from former LEAST I COULD DO artist, Chad Porter. (FYI, “Least I Could DO” is a really funny comic strip that’s aimed at more mature readers. It’s got a LOTS of Sexual situations, so use you best judgment in reading.) Chad’s an incredible artist who’s provided a lot of great guest material over the years and you can find his current work online on his DEVIANT ART page.

Dandy & Company and the Search for Mr. Fuzzy!!!

Oh, how I’ve been DYING to put this art up for all to see. I started working on it weeks ago, but new I really couldn’t show it without giving away the Robot Cats. But now that the story is really ready to start rolling, I can FINALLY showcase this art. I hope you dig this somewhat theatrical kick-off to the Summer action!

Permission

This strip is a good example of in instance where the character tells me to change the plot. When I started writing this strip, Dandy wasn’t going to be quite as pro-active in the last panel, but I think that this is the kind of thing he’d do. Prankster or not, I’ve shown on many occasions that Dandy really does love his little brother. Add to that the idea that an authority figure is telling him NOT to act, and you have a dog that’s willing to run into a smoldering building.

Of course, BEING Dandy, it was important to add his sarcastic zinger at the end. It’s actually a version of an expression I use a LOT when I behave contrary to anyones wishes… the “impression” part.
