After drawing this strip, let me just say that if Mr. Fuzzy is fortunate enough to survive this story line, this design WILL be simplified considerably. lol. It’s a fun design to draw, but it takes FOREVER!
That said, I always find it interesting that the robot animals have proportions and body language that is actually ANIMAL-like. The real animals in the strip are bi-pedal, but Mr. Fuzzy and the Cat-tomatons walk on all-fours… Weird.

Side characters getting captured is part and parcel of these kinds of stories. Heck, it’s given Bernard his fair share of rope burn, and now it’s Chuck Rage’s turn. Ultimately, it’s important to take any ancillary pieces off of the chess board so that your main characters have a chance to shine… and let’s face it, the strip isn’t called “Chuck Rage & Company”.
