It was all Evil Bernard’s fault that he was defeated for the SECOND time. He was so close, yet so far. But even though Evil Dandy is back where he belongs, his presence is still felt by those in our time. Relationships are strained, and a lingering feeling of defeat looms in the victory. New relationships were formed as well. As Mistake and Mr. Fuzzy can tell you. But Evil Dandy isn’t one to give up. While sulking in his latest defeat, he realized something. All his i-MUTTS had followed him back to the 80’s! If such technology was introduced in the age of NES, (Nintendo Entertainment System for those of your who are game history challenged) it would destroy the fabric of time! (In case you’re wondering, the huge span of time blocks the range of the control collar. And Dandy destroyed it anyway.) Then Evil Dandy got an evil idea. Instead of trying to defeat Dandy in our time and take over the strip, he would merely use this foreign technology to alter time in his favor! Therefore, he wouldn’t be defeated by our Dandy because he already had control, meaning that our Dandy wouldn’t exist! (Of course, he had to be taken out.) But knowing that Dandy as a puppy, would grow up and start the battle over again, he had to take out puppy Dandy. But he had to destroy our Dandy first so as to prevent any interference from him. Thus leaving the past Dandy unprotected. In a bold move to become powerful enough, he used the alien technology to transform himself into something far more evil. Evil Dandy has transformed from evil genius trying to take over the strip, to borderline psychotic in his vow to destroy Dandy for his failures! (You’d change too if you were transformed) Now a living machine, a cyborg, a walking, talking, anthropomorphic i-MUTT, Evil Dandy has become more powerful than ever! But does OUR Dandy know of the coming Armageddon at the hands of CYBER-DANDY? “Hey Beanie-Boy! Heads up!” Dandy said as he shoved Bernard off the hill once again. Guess not……… And now I present to you, a new adventure full of action and suspense! A TAIL I like to call CYBER-DANDY (Dandy)’s Revenge! (numbers’s represent panel numbers as if each numbered line were a panel of a strip, Blue text represents my own Dandy Grams!) _____________________________ 1 “I will soon have control of that strip! All I have to do is get rid of BOTH Dandy’s, and my plan will come together!” Cyber-Dandy said, shaking his fist in the air. 2 “What about me?” Evil Bernard asked. “What ABOUT you?” Cyber-Dandy asked, crossing his arms. 3 “Well, I said I was sorry for doing that! If you hadn’t made that OFF-COLLAR comment about never send a boy to do a dogs job, I wouldn’t have done that!” Evil Bernard said. 4 “Well, if your going to APOLOGIZE then it’s OBVIOUS you aren’t evil material!” Cyber-Dandy said, still looking away. -Elsewhere, in the time we know and LOVE….. 1 “Isn’t this sun-rise beautiful Dandy?” Bernard asked, looking at the sun rising. 2 “It’s almost like seeing God PAINT the sky! It’s MOTHER NATURE’S art in motion!” Bernard said, getting even more excited. 3 “It makes you feel good about being alive!” Bernard finished. 4 “DANDY!” Bernard screamed, seeing Dandy sleeping on the log. -Well…it seems that our “hero” is still unaware of the coming war at hand…. 1 “Hiya Maryweather! Doing anything interesting?” Dandy asked, seeing her reading by the log. “Not really, why?” Maryweather asked, getting curious. 2 “Well, I was just wonderin’ if you would like to see…I dunno….a movie?” Dandy asked, rubbing the back of his neck. Maryweather looked unsure. 3 “Well……how bout it. Your choice?” Dandy asked. 4 “Of course, YOU’LL have to buy the tickets.” Dandy said. “NEVER MIND!” Maryweather said storming off. -We all know Dandy ain’t a stickler for ROMANCE! 1 “Jeeze! I can’t BELIEVE that Maryweather would bite my head off at asking her to buy the tickets!” Dandy said, angrily slumped against the log. 2 “Well, Dandy, it’s not real ROMANTIC when the girl has to PAY.” Bernard said, looking over at Dandy. Dandy shot him a dirty look. 3 “Well, it wasn’t really a date….” Dandy trailed
off. 4 “WHAT?! SHE WOULDN’T BUY TICKETS TO EPISODE 3?!” Bernard screamed. “Now don’t YOU go making a big deal.” Dandy said, covering his ears. -Looks like Bernard is overreacting! I would be too! 1 Dandy and Bernard walk off from the log. 2 a rip opens up in time 3 nothing happens 4 “Well, go already!” Cyber-Dandy said, trying to push Evil Bernard out. “No! They might be waiting for me!” Evil Bernard shouted. -Who? Dunno? HAHA! 1 “What do you mean?” Cyber-Dandy asked, finally out of the portal. 2 “Well, what if the BOSS finds out we snuck away
again?” Evil Bernard asked 3 “Oh, What’s HE gonna do?” Cyber-Dandy asked, waving Evil Bernard off. 4 VOICE FROM THE PORTAL: “I’m gonna kill ‘em!” -Ut-oh! Looks like our evil duo
snuck out without permission! 1 “Soon, my plan will be operational, and all will tremble before me!” Cyber-Dandy shouted. 2 “Uhhh…..aren’t you taking this a bit too far? I mean, all your going to do is take over the STRIP, right?” Evil Bernard asked. 3 Cyber-Dandy glares at Evil Bernard. 4 “Yes…..take over the strip.” Cyber-Dandy says, looking sinister. 5 “You really won’t DESTROY, destroy Dandy? Will you?” Evil Bernard asked, looking uncomfortable at Cyber-Dandy’s gaze. 6 “I will take over the strip AND destroy Dandy!” Cyber-Dandy said, smiling evilly. 7 “AND I WILL WIN!!!!!” Cyber-Dandy shouted, knocking Evil Bernard off the hill they were standing on. 8 “Hmmmm. NOW I see why my counterpart does that!
It IS fun!” Cyber-Dandy said, looking down the hill. -And fun ye shall have! For all will be revealed soon! 1 “Ya know Beanie Boy? I got a funny feeling that we are being watched.” Dandy said looking around. 2 “Get a hold of yourself. There isn’t anyone around here.” Bernard said, rolling his eyes. 3 Cyber-Dandy and Evil Bernard peek out from behind the bush the others just passed. 4 A bird craps on Cyber-Dandy’s head. Evil Bernard snickers. -Well, not everything works out. 1 Cyber Dandy reveals his presence to a startled Dandy and Bernard. 2 “At last! I will take control of this strip!” Cyber Dandy said, triumphantly posing. Dandy rolls his eyes. 3 “YOU WILL ALL COWER BEFORE ME!!!” Cyber Dandy yells. Dandy only yawns. 4 “You smell like a rubber band fire!” Dandy finally replies. -That Dandy, brave in the face of danger! 1 “Aren’t you even the least bit afraid of me?! I mean, c’mon!” Cyber Dandy says, with his hands on his hips. 2 “Not really. It’s hard to be afraid of a can opener.” Dandy remarks. 3 “Your smart mouth will be then end of you!” Cyber Dandy says, a whirring catches his attention. 4 Cyber Dandy looks behind him to see Mistake using his tail to open a can. -All homes should have one! 1 “You’re the mean ol’ pootyhead that tried to hurt my big brudder!” Mistake said, glowing yellow. 2 “What’s up with that?” Cyber Dandy asked Dandy, who was trying not to laugh 3 “He’s changed since we last met.” Dandy said, pointing off panel. 4 Cyber Dandy looks over his shoulder with a startled expression. He’s in a shadow. “You have Mr. Fuzzy to thank for that!” Dandy says. -Oops! 1 “MISTAKE SMASH EVIL BIG BRUDDER!” is cried off panel as a lot of pain symbols fly around. Dandy is laughing hard. 2 Elsewhere, the portal still remains open. A voice says “I will show those two not to run away from me!” 3 Another figure, smaller in size, rolls out of the portal. 4 “I will get my Big Brudder for you boss!” an evil Mistake says to the portal. -Well, you had to expect other evils from the universe sooner or later! 1 “I will find my Big Brudder and take him back to be punished!” Evil Mistake said. 2 Hard to believe that even though he’s evil he still looks adorable as he walks along. 3 Elsewhere, the battle rages on. “What’s up with the metallic coat of paint? The Star Wars convention is next year!” Dandy remarked 4 “Laugh it up for I will………” Cyber-Dandy is cut off when he catches sight of Evil Mistake -FINALLY! Something that strikes fear into Cyber-Dandy! 1 “Uh…..hello!” Cyber-Dandy stammers. 2 “Big Brudder, you are in so much trouble!” Evil Mistake said, pointing up at him threateningly. 3 “Got to catch me first!” Cyber-Dandy said running off panel. 4 “You know, I always wondered who it is on the other side of that portal.” Bernard said, looking at the still open portal. 5 “They always come HERE, but we’ve never been THERE!” Bernard observed. 6 He notices Dandy is looking off panel at the continuing chase. 7 “Your doubles return got you worried huh?” Bernard asked, changing the mood. 8 “Naw, it’s just now I have to put up with TWO Mistake’s!” Dandy remarked, pointing off panel. -Leave it to Dandy to make light of this situation! 1 Cyber-Dandy continues running 2 He slams into an armadillo walking by. 3 “Who are you?” Cyber-Dandy asks 4 “Call me, an alliance!” the mystery man said, helping Cyber-Dandy up. -Uh-oh! 1 “I am Armadillo Rex! Number one psychopath and big time inventor!” Rex said dancing around. 2 “I’ve heard of you!” Cyber-Dandy said. 3 “Maybe you can help me!” Cyber-Dandy said, perking up. 4 “I said I was an INVENTOR, not a MIRACLE WORKER!” Rex said, walking off from an angered Cyber-Dandy. -BURN!!!! 1 “Okay, I will help you. What do you need me to do? Destroy a world?” 2 “Take over a strip? Destroy all life?” 3 “Become lord and master of the universe?” Rex asked, popping up in different corners the whole time. 4 “Actually I want to get away from my little brother!” Cyber-Dandy said, causing Rex to fall from the top of the panel in surprise. - Is that all? 1 “THAT’S IT?!!” Rex screamed, seeming annoyed. 2 “Well, and take over the strip.” Cyber-Dandy said, looking away cautiously. 3 “THAT, I can do! The other, you’re on your own!” Rex said. 4 “So, do you like have anything I can it him with?” Cyber-dandy asked, gesturing swinging a hammer. Rex rubbed his temples at this lack of listening. -He never listens dose he? 1 “Big Brudder! The BOSS would like to speak to you!” Evil Mistake called off panel. 2 Cyber-Dandy looks to Rex, who ignores him for now. 3 Cyber-Dandy takes off, with Evil Mistake following behind, catching Rex’s attention. 4 “He’s afraid of that cute little guy?” Rex asked himself. -He is too cute for school! 1 “I don’t know if we should go into this portal thing, Bernard.” Dandy said. 2 “Why not? Scared?” Bernard asked teasingly 3 “No we might wind up with Christmas in March or something……….” 4 Dandy is cut off when the two are shoved into the portal by the fleeing Cyber-Dandy -Things never work out do they? 1 “Where are we?” Bernard asked, amazed that their new location looks EXACTLY like their old location. 2 “We appear to be in the 1980’s” Dandy said, noticing the 80’s attire the passerby’s were wearing. 3 “OH NO! That means that we’re here before I was created!” Bernard shouted. 4 “Oh come on now, it’s not real time travel!” Dandy said, waving his hand. 5 “It’s not like you gonna fade away or anything!” Dandy remarked 6 Bernard starts fading away. 7 The fading becomes more noticeable to Dandy when Bernard shoots him a dirty look . 8 Bernard disappears with a poof while Dandy remarks, facing the creator of the strip “You just HAD to make this happen!” -Plot is thicker than water! 1 Cyber-Dandy looks at the portal, and realizes what he’s done. “With those two stuck in the 80’s I won’t have to destroy EITHER of them!” 2 “I can just take over the strip right here and now!” Cyber-Dandy gloated. 3 Evil Mistake runs up, only to be vanished by Cyber-Dandy 4 “LOOK “BERNARD”! I HAVE CREATIVE CONTROL ALREADY!” Cyber-Dandy shouts off panel, pointing to the smoking area. -Uh-oh! HEY LEGGO! HEY!!!!! 1 “Now I have full authority over this strip!” 2 “Wait until my goody counterpart comes home to THIS!” 3 Looks at his watch. “I SAID, WAIT UNTIL HE COMES HOME TO THIS!!!!” 4 “Man, I never want to leave!” Dandy said, enjoying being alone. -Well, how is this going to work out? 1 “If I stop my evil double from being created, I wouldn’t exist.” 2 “If he stops me, he will still exist, due to being made BEFORE me.” 3 A devious smile spreads across his face. 4 “If he gets me in the past and present, he will make me exist anyways. He will become me and start it all over again!” -Logic is funny! 1 “But I don’t want him to destroy me! Who knows how long it will take for him to evolve into me.” 2 “Why does this stuff always happen to me?” Dandy asked the sky. 3 He went into his home, to see George and Mae! George had hair! 4 “Well at least I got some familiar suckers to torment!” Dandy said, rubbing his hands together. -He never learns, does he? 1 “Evil Bernard!” Cyber-Dandy shouted. 2 “What is it?” Evil Bernard asked rushing up. 3 “I just thought of something. Even if I destroy Dandy, I will still become him. So the only way is to……..” 4 “STAY IN THIS TIME!” -DUH Einstein! 1 “If I never leave this time, I can’t become him! I can alter time in my favor!” Cyber-Dandy said evilly. 2 “But what makes you think that Dandy won’t escape the 80’s and send you back? And what’s to stop the BOSS from coming after us?” 3 “The BOSS will be proud of us! He wouldn’t ruin a plan this beautiful!” 4 We see legs hanging out of the portal. It’s the BOSS! -Well well, well, the mystery man shows himself! 1 “We won’t stop at nothing! Nothing can stop us!” Cyber-Dandy said, becoming more erratic. 2 “Uh-sir?” Evil Bernard said, unsure, pointing off panel. 3 “What is it “Bernard”?” Cyber-Dandy asked 4 A finger taps Cyber-Dandy on the shoulder, making him freeze in fear. 5 “Uh-BOSS! How are you…..doing?” Cyber-Dandy asked, tugging nervously at his collar. 6 “I came here to drag you two back to where you belong!” the off panel voice said. 7 “But we were right in the middle of a plan to take the strip! I already have creative control!” Cyber-Dandy said, backing away and shoving Evil Bernard forward. 8 “The strip no longer matters! I want the world! And my army of evil doubles will do what YOU two failed to accomplish for the THIRD time!” the off panel voice said to the cowering villains. -HERE IT COMES!!!! 1 “I 80’s-DERRICK WILL TAKE THE WORLD!” the man in shades and leather said, striking a dramatic pose. 2 “Uh, don’t you want to think this over first? I mean, our plan was almost there!” Cyber-Dandy nervously protested. 3 80’s-Derrick looks at Cyber-Dandy disgusted. “BEGONE!” he commands, and the two are teleported away 4 “Now I have CREATIVE CONTROL!” -Well at least “Bernard” and I are safe in the Dandy-Grams for now. We’ll give the Play by Play! Let’s see what’s going on in the 80’s shall we? 1 “I wonder how everything is going back in my time?” Dandy said, looking off panel as if he could see his time. 2 “OH NO! The portal’s closed!” Dandy curses his luck. 3 “I got to get Bernard back too!” Dandy said, hitting his palm. 4 “Don’t look at me like that! If it weren’t for Mae hollering at me I wouldn’t do it at all!” Dandy said, hands on hips, facing the viewer -Yea right Dandy! Sure you wouldn’t! 1 “My army of evil doubles is all ready to go! I already tested out Evil Mistake!” 2 “Now to test out the evil parents!” 80’s-Derrick says to himself. 3 “I’m gonna go torment Bernard’s folks again.” Dandy says to himself 4 Dandy gets grabbed and pulled through the front door, already open. -Well, this may not be so bad after all! Right “Bernard”? “I don’t know about this.” 1”Well, it appears that GOOD Dandy was already in the 80’s!” 2 “Those two actually did something right!” 80’s-Derrick said, walking off. 3 Maryweather and Audrey saw all this. They look at each other, shocked. 4 “Man! My comic strip is gonna be killer!” Audrey said, scribbling in her pad. “Enough with the comic already! This is serious!” Maryweather said annoyed. - If we did something right, does this mean we’re off punishment? 1 “Aude! Dandy is trapped in the 80’s and Bernard is nowhere to be found! This is serious!” Maryweather protested. 2 “Okay, I guess your right. This may be my chance to make up to Bernard for the LAST time Evil Dandy tried to take over!” Audrey said, enthused. 3 “Good! Now what are we going to do?” Maryweather asked. 4 “Hold on, I’m almost finished! This is my LAST one I PROMISE!” Audrey said, scribbling in her pad again. Maryweather only rolled her eyes. -“I might buy one of those comics from her!” Shut up “Bernard”! 1 “What am I gonna do? Bernard’s gone, I’m stuck in my OWN past, and now his parents are after me? What else can go wrong?” Dandy asked, rolling his eyes. 2 Those two familiar aliens floated up to Dandy. 3 “Hey! You guys remember me don’t you! Help me out here pals!” Dandy said, kicking his feet. He is tied to a chair 4 “Sorry. We don’t know you! Ready the device!” the alien commanded. -Wait a minute! That means that those aliens were around long before we gained the technology to make the i-MUTTS! They were here all along! 1 “How is it you guys are here? Were you here all along?” Dandy asked, getting worried. 2 “We have been here for quite a while. We even met a guy named Derrick! Gave him the ability to time travel. His ‘FRIENDS’ a dog and a boy took it form him and have been going to the future at least three times now.” 3 “So that explains how they got from here to there!” Dandy said to himself. 4 “Now this won’t hurt for long!” the alien said holding up a big needle. Dandy fell backwards in his chair. 5 “You ain’t sucking no blood from me!” Dandy hollered form the floor. 6 “Come on! Just a few drops?” the alien asked. 7 “What do you want it for?!” Dandy demanded. 8 “You’ll soon find out!” Cyber-Dandy said from somewhere off panel. Dandy didn’t hear it though. -So THAT’S where he got that time travel device we used! It all makes sense now! “I don’t like where this is going Cyber-Dandy.” Oh nonsense, the aliens are apparently on our side after we went into the future! They shifted to the good sides after that whole whathaveyou in Bernard’s summer vacation happened. 1 “See ‘Bernard’ it’s like this! After I manage to take over the strip, I won’t NEED this metal body anymore. So if I use Dandy’s blood, I can make me a new living body!” 2 “But you won’t look like your old self!” ‘Bernard’ observed 3 “Yes! I will look like Dandy in every perfect way! No one would suspect anything!” Cyber-Dandy gloated. “Nothing can possibly go wrong!” 4 We see the aliens are knocked out and the chair is tipped over. Dandy has ESCAPED!!! -WHAT! HE ESCAPED????!! This will damper my plans for sure! “Even if we do manage to catch him, wouldn’t BOSS take him from us?” Why do you think we got those aliens working for us? They don’t know anything about the future, they were easy to persuade! 1 “Nice digs you got going on here.” Rex said to 80’s-Derrick 2 “Thanks! I took it over myself!” 80’s Derrick replied. 3 “So where’s the other two idiots?” Rex asked, looking around. 4 “THIS WAS ALL YOUR FAULT ‘BERNARD’!” Cyber-Dandy said as they ran from a dinosaur. -Ahhh! It’s great to be back at my post! Hope those two didn’t mess anything up! Where’s my pencil? 1 “Why did I let you talk me into using Derrick’s time machine again?” Cyber-Dandy asked, finally safe from the dino. 2 “It was YOUR plan!” “Bernard” protested. 3 “Well, we’re back in the 80’s! Our home turf! Let’s hunt Dandy like the dog he is!” Cyber-Dandy said, looking sinister. 4 “Where did THIS come from?” Cyber-Dandy asked, pulling a pencil form behind his ear. -MY PENCIL!!! Thank you! Aliens, robots, clones, two evil sides fighting each other, and Dandy in the middle! What a mess! 1 “Bout time you came back!” the alien said to Cyber-Dandy. 2 “Well, traffic was murder.” Cyber-Dandy remarked. 3 “The dog escaped. We started to search for him.” The alien said pointing to a flying camera. 4 “FOUND HIM!!!” the camera said, firing at Cyber-Dandy. -What the???? 1 “Why is it shooting at ME?” Cyber-Dandy asked, hiding behind the couch 2 “You are Dandy in the past. You share the same genetic structure that the camera is programmed to target.” The alien explained. 3 “So as long as I’m here, it’s gonna hunt me?” Cyber-Dandy asked. 4 “Yep.” The alien replied, as he pretended not to notice the camera hovering behind Cyber-Dandy’s head. -Well this is an interesting development! 1 “Maybe we should stay out of the way until this is blown over.” Cyber-Dandy said ducking the shot. 2 “I think that would be best!” Evil Bernard said hitting the floor with Cyber-Dandy. 3 “What do you know?” Cyber-Dandy asked. 4 Cyber-Dandy is running from another dinosaur. “I know how to work the Time Machine!” Evil Bernard said off panel. -Well THAT’S a punishment for you! ___________________________ Dandy and all related Characters are Copyright, 2003 Derrick Fish *Armadillo Rex is copyright Chris Gammon 1993-2003 (wow, he’s younger than he looks!) |
