Really, how could any red-blooded prankster like lil’ Dandy resist such a temptation.

How DOES he do that?

I did a very similar gag last week where lil’ Dandy was able to perform an otherwise IMPOSSIBLE feat while off camera. I wanted to repeat the concept to emphasise that lil’ Dandy’s pranking powers are uncanny. And as a cartoon character, he can do ANYTHING when outside the frame. This is inspired by a classic Chuck Jones, Bugs Bunny cartoon: “Bully for Bugs”. Bugs is taunting the bull in the cartoon and does a little dance out of frame. Immediately, the bull can no longer see him. It was a weird little gag I wanted to touch on here.

Explode?!

I think the entire purpose of today’s strip… other than to set up the conclusion of the storyline… is to finally just say it… “Dandy is Unstable!” After 5 years, it felt good to get it off my chest. ;)

Longtime readers will immediately recognize the dog in the last frame as Pumpkin… the founder of a support group for domesticated dogs trying to get back in touch with their inner-wild animals. She’s been in the strip a while but hasn’t been seen since Maryweather left, having also been used in Snuffles last evil plot. Ya’ know, this could take a while if I just try and re-tell her whole back story. If you’re new to the strip and don’t know who Pumpkin is, I suggest a lengthy dip into the ARCHIVES.

Also, it should be noted that this younger Dandy does NOT share Mistake’s speach impediment.

Donation Drive Redux… NOW WITH ‘TAILS TO AMAZE’!

As you can see, I’ve brought back the “TAILS” Donation drive inturrupted from earlier in the month. But with a new added TWIST! RAW DESPERATION! I really have being so blunt about it, but your lovin’ cartoonist is between jobs right now. My old day-job came to an early end… and while I HAVE secured a new job and have already began working, it will be a few weeks to many until I get PAID from the aforementioned new job. SO, having shared this info, I’m going it expresses just how much donations are REALLY worth. Thanks in advance.

You can do your part ot keep the funny flowing fresh by visiting our handy-dandy (pun intended) DONATIONS page and pitching in to help support the website and it’s sad, sorry cartoonist. (Aka, ME.)

And as a special added bonus, any donations totaling $15 (fifteen dollars) or more comes complete with the first, full color issue of my new comic, TAILS TO AMAZE! This is the exclusive convention edition with the snazzy sketch rear cover where I’ll draw one of the awesome new characters just for you! This also includes the 8 page, black and white preview comic, also a convention exclusive! If that’s not worth it, I don’t know what is! (Donations already recieved will have their books sent out at the end of this week. Thanks!)

I really like when I get a chance to use Pumpkin in the strip. She’s used rather infrequently and has probably gone through more PHYSICAL changes than most other characters in the strip. Innitially, she was more of a chubby poofball. And in her second arc, I made her much more angular and severe looking. More like a school marm, as I wanted everyone to think she had become a villain.

I like this current version as a nice blend of the two. I really wanted to bring back some of her innocence and softness since I’m setting her up as a victim for Lil’ Dandy here.
