Segue into Chaos!

October 06, 2006

I always like to do a lead in strip just before going into a TOTAL CHAOS arc. This annual week of guest artist strips is a pretty big deal for me. I love seeing what you all come up with and I love getting to share those ideas with everyone else.

THAT said, it’s also really fun to have the gang make their OWN commentary on the idea and this ISN’T the first time they’ve made cracks at the upcoming guest artists. Now, i’ve recieved some negative mail about Dandy or Bernard ripping on how the guest artists will draw them, telling me that I’m being disrespectful of the fans and the other artists, and nothing could be further from the truth. I SO love the guest strips that I devote a full week, and often more, a year to them. I devoted TWENTY pages to the guest strips in the last book, so if you think I’m being disrespectful by having Dandy make a crack at the differing art styles, then you don’t know me OR Dandy very well. It’s my way of really bringing the guest strips INTO the continuity and universe of the comic. How many comics that run guest strips ACTUALLY have the characters mention them?

It’s a JOKE. Relax, and get ready for the fun on Monday.

What better way to kick off this years guest week then with a submission from long-time Dandy guest artist, Bill Charbonneau!

Bill is a talented cartoonist and the publisher of Dandy’s favorite comic magazine, ZOINKS! Check it, and all his other work NOW!

Today’s strip, featuring a rare appearance by our very own George, comes courtesy of DandyFan, Jesse Kiefer.

Chipotle Dog

By now, it wouldn’t REALLY be Total Chaos without an entry by MANGLED STARE artist, and Cartoonist extrodinaire, Will Rodriguez! Will titular Hero, the Mighty Mangler is so cool, that he’s a recurring character in THIS strip, and MORE than worth checking out.

Oh, and happy 5th, Dandy & Company.

Kill Dandy

October 12, 2006

Justin Miller delivers the goods today, with a hillarious “KILL BILL” parody that hits the characterization of Dandy and the crew right on the head. Check out his new online comic, Inc.’ed, now.
