We’ll be starting off the first week of what I’ve come to call (que reverb) “THE RETURN …OF DANDY!” with some great strips outlining the “Top 5 reasons that it’s good that Dandy & Co. has returned.” Having already seen the entire week’s worth, I think you’ll enjoy them.

Today’s reason is certainly one of the truest. One of the top reasons Dandy & Co. appears to be a perfect candidate for animation is because of Fish’s variation and use of backgrounds. He’s no amateur cartoonist, I think we can all agree on that; but I shouldn’t be filling his ego like a water-balloon, should I?

Thanks for backing me on that.

Today’s strip is the second of 5 all-new Dandy & Company strips outlining the ‘Top 5 reasons that it’s good that Dandy & Co. has returned.” These new strips will continue to run for the rest of the week, but will not, as far as I know, be followed by weekend strips. Derrick has decided to jump right back into his cliffhanger stories and skip weekend strips for a while, giving himself a few days off.

I’m beginning to think the hiatus just went to his head. *wink*

I know we can all accept this little change in format because we all appreciate what Derrick does and want it to continue for as long as possible; and if that means weekends off, then so be it. Derrick has expressed concerns about the future of the strip, and although uncertain, says he would like to try out some different things regarding the format; perhaps even a comic-book style like the epic stories he has produced in the past. Either way, we don’t care - as long as he keeps pumping out whatever it is that he makes, we’ll keep coming back with outstretched arms.

I really didn’t mean that to sound so sentimental, hahaha. What the heck, just enjoy the return, everyone — despite all the sillyness and hiccups the server seems to be throwing at us. =D

It’s good to be back.

Yep, you guessed it - #3 of 5 new strips to kick off the return of Dandy. See how easy it is when we pay attention?

These just keep getting better and better, huh? I betcha ya’ll didn’t see that one coming. I guess it never gets too old to poke fun at 8-bit graphics.

So the change wasn’t as smooth as it could’ve been. Fear not — I do have a fix in the works, something better than my temporary fix. If, by the end of the weekend, something isn’t in place to correct any weirdness we might have, I invite you all to snail-mail me various decomposing aquatic life forms for me to receive with horror in a couple of weeks. Go ahead, do it.

Nyah, just kidding. I love aquatic life-forms as much as the next guy.

Number 4 — getting down to the wire now.

Sorry about the delay for this one, I forgot to upload it last night; I was preoccupied with other things. I was gone all morning, too, which didn’t help.

So glad I won’t have to do this for much longer, and we’ll fully return by next week. Enjoy your weekend, guys!
