Armory blues

Now, If I could think of a reasonable way to SHOW how big and elaborate F.I.E.L.D headquarters is in a 4 panel comic strip, I would. I’ll have to work on that in future strips.

A spot of tea…

I wanted F.I.E.L.D. headquarters to have a kind mission control, NASA feeling here. Although one thing I HATE about the strip format, is that the text here (While essential) covers up some of the background work. In a comic book, I could pull back for a nice establishing shot and worry about the text in the next panel. But in a strip, where the story is being paced out at three or four panels a day, you guys would likely go nuts if I took an entire strip to just show an establishing shot.

The Lion and the Unicorn

Sometime you just need to advance the plot with little room for a huge punchline. I still think seeing Calpurnia freak out a little is pretty funny, as she’s shown nothing but composure so far.

That, and for REALLY nerdy readers, there’s a subtle second reference in this strip.
