Nightmares for fools

This one was a strip that grew rather organically for me. My initial idea was to do a rather straight forward April Fools gag, where I would “Reveal” the identity of the trucker as someone or something obviously silly and then throw in an “April Fools Day” at the end. But in my mind, it just took off on it’s own, as I struggled to come up with an identity of the trucker that would be perfect for an April fools gag. I really couldn’t come up with anyone sufficiently funny, and I imagined a twist where it was actually a nightmare of Dandy’s and he would just comment on how he really hates April Fools gags.

Then the twist went serious and we came around full to were we are now. There’s still humor in the strip, but there’s also a ligit undercurrent of drama that is starting to build here regarding Dandy’s inability to deal with guilt.

Trust me when I say that this is not only going somewhere, but that it’s going MULTIPLE somewheres. Enjoy the ride.

Ain’t I a stinker?

Okay, even I have to admit that I’m having a little bit of fun at both Dandy’s and you gracious reader’s expense. But I promise I’m not dragging out Dandy’s reveal to Mistake JUST for sadistic giggles. I really do think it’s important to put Dandy through the emotional wringer a bit before the story moves on to what happens next.

Also, I am well aware that Dandy contradicts himself from panel 2 to panel 3, and it’s intentional. Anyone who’s worked themselves up into a panic like this IMAGINING how someone they care about is going to react to something like this is all to familiar with the astounding leaps in logic one must make in order to maintain that level of stress.

Prioritize

I’m not going to elaborate on this one. I think it speaks for itself.

Mending fences

Sorry about the delay in posting this. The strip was done, but in the chaos of my recent move, I neglected to actually UPLOAD the silly thing.

That said, I think this was probably a little too much dialouge for a daily strip. It has the annoying problem of which character speaks first in a panel. I hope it’s clear who’s speaking first in each panel.

Katie is a headstrong young lady who had her life completely planned out before she met her husband, Andy. Now, after two years of college and an interstate move, Katie is in an unfamiliar position of piecing her life together. The only thing keeping her remotely sane is the love she has for Andy.
