It was suggested in the forums that it would be better for me to get back to business as usual in order to properly showcase what D&C is all about, which is what inspired today’s strip. It IS, by the way, the LAST in this current series of shameless self-promotion for the Web Cartoonists’ Choice Awards!

I like the cartoon logic in today’s strip. Clearly, Pumpkin is standing behind Maryweather off to the left of the panel, but Dandy can’t SEE her until Maryweather motions for him to do so. She’s obviously standing in that pocket dimension that Bugs Bunny pulls anvils and the like out of.

That, and I’m sure some of you might notice that Pumpkin is wearing her glasses here, which goes against the rationalle that got her in this situation in the first place. And you’d be right to notice this, so let me just explain WHY I drew her with her glasses: It’s funnier looking that way.

As I was drawing this strip, It occured to me that Dandy’s been trying to wreak havok with that chainsaw for quite some time now. Is this the first time he’s actually been able to USE it?

UPDATE: Just wanted to drop you all a line to let you know that Friday’s strip will be late. With the FX Convention coming up next weekend (see link below) along with all the other slings and arrows of my day job, I haven’t been able to get as much work done on the strip as I’d like. So This Friday’s strip will likely be draw Friday evening and posted on Saturday. Thanks for the patiance.

Well, this SHOULD have been up yesterday but for the fact that it wasn’t drawn yet. Next weekend is the 18th annual FX Comics and Pop Culture Extravaganza ( see link below. ) and I’ve been insanely busy getting ready for it. As such, I hit a bit of a wall and couldn’t get Friday’s strip done without working straight through the night and I opted for sleaping… hope you all don’t mind too much.

Anywho, I’ll be spending most of the weekend getting caught up on a new storyline. You all should get a kick out of it.

As you can see, Skeezicks is back with intentions for our heroes. If you’re new to the strip and don’t quite know what’s going on, I’d suggest a leasurly romp through our handy-dandy (pun intended) archives.

ALSO: It appears that Dandy’s recent stint as a barber for Pumpkin has inspired some AWESOME art from one D.C Simpson! If you DON’T know, D.C. writes and draws one of the single best comic strips ever, online OR off, OZY and MILLIE. Now, I’m a pretty big fan of Ozy and Millie and as any fan knows, there’s an annual tradition that leaves the titular character, Ozy, devoid of his fur for a little while. This occurance has become almost COSMIC in it’s re-occurance and is one of the funnier running gags in D.C.’s strip. I have to now admit that this gag MAY have been rooting around my evil subconcious when I separated Pumpkin from her fuzziness. D.C. chalks it up to great minds thinking alike, but I’m willing to conceed that I may just be a hack.

But ANYWAY, Mr. Simpson seemed to like the strip enough to elaborate upon it himself with the following gem.
