Holiday strips are always tricky because it’s entirely too easy to fall into a rut and I REALLY do try and not just do the same gags over and over again. Thanksgiving has always been one of the trickier ones to write into the strip but I wan’t to incorporate more of the family in the stories.

I’m dating myself here, aren’t I? I mean, seriously. Do they even use that old bell in the hall at schools anymore? And on another level, is the bell that Dandy clipped off the clapper off of possibly the ONLY bell in the entire Jr. High school? I mean, wouldn’t there be another one RIGHT down the hall so different classes could hear it? For this to work, Dandy would have had to have been there for, like, an hour clipping off the clappers of every freakin’ bell in that school.

Really, on every logical level, this strip is just goofy but I like it anyway.

Yeah, it’s a day early, but it’s actually Thanksgiving today, so this gag made more sense.

This is a good summation of how I feel every year. Right around now, I suppose I have to stop griping abot Christmas stuff since it IS actually the appropriate time for it, but I don’t have to LIKE it.
