Since today is ACTUALLY Halloween, I thought I’d clump together Manuel Aguilera’s short story submission for this year’s TOTAL CHAOS which are now a part of official “Dandy & Co.” continuity and take place today, on Halloween. Obviously, I’m a HUGE “Peanuts” fan and wanted to make note of the 40th anniversary of the classic special, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”. Of course, it was also a fun way to comment on the aftermath of the Wereboy story.

Man, trying to capture Charles Shulz’s linework is REALLY hard to get right. However, to see even MORE of my love for all things “Charlie Brown”, hop over to the FORUM to check out my Halloween costumes this year. That’s right, I said costume”S”.

When I started doing the strip, stores had their Christmas crap up and for sale by the end of November, ready to beat the doors down the SECOND we digested our turkey. But THIS year, I sware to you that Wal-Mart had Christmas decorations up and on sale in FLIPPIN’ AUGUST!!!! Heck, Target had it so that you actually had to pass through a circle of Christmas nonsense just to get to their Halloween stuff. If you haven’t figured it out, this irritates me to know end.

I know, I know! “C’mon, Derrick! Where’s the Sunday Strips!? At least the “Community Theater”!?! What’s the deal?” I’m putting the Sunday installments on hold for a little bit while I’m busy re-furbishing some stuff for the site. Since the “Community Theater” pics aren’t relevant to the running stories, they can safely be set aside while I finish up work on the 2006 Calendar I’ve mentioned before. (All Watercolor paintings that are coming along GREAT!) and also a secret new Dandy book I’m putting together, hopefully in time for Christmas. AND, I’m working on a new logo and look for some aspects of the site I hope to have figured out soon. Just bare with me for a bit, folks. This is more about REinvigorating the strip than anything else.

If I could have put the Jaws music into the strip, I would have. Seriously, though, I really don’t do strips like this enough. I tend to get caught up in the big adventures so often that I frequently skip over opportunities for good ol’ FUN like in today’s strip.
