UPDATE: Hey there, Thanks for your patience while I moved and readjusted, etc. etc. I have now completed all of the commissions requested and have sent most of them out. Unfourtunately, my records got a little messed up in my move of late, and I have all the people who ordered AND all the order descriptions, but have misplaced the all important info regarding just what goes where!!! If you’re one of the many readers who placed an order back in August, please email me back and remind me what your order IS, so I can be sure I’m
sending the right drawing to the right person. Thanks for picking up my own lame slack!

I really enjoy working in the “Comic Book” format from time to time, and these short stories are a fun way to get some more meaty storytelling into the world of Dandy & Company. The biggest perk for me, aside from getting to play with the “camera” and try different shots of the cast, is the ability to extend dialouge and not have to break up a conversation every fourth panel with a punchline. I think it’s a better way to let the characters GROW, and I’m thinking about doing MORE of these kinds of stories in the future.

UPDATE: Here’s the super-snazzy, official press release for the NEW TRADE COLLECTION of my comic, Scarred World…

ORLANDO, FL—November 11th 2005— Most fans of online comics know Derrick Fish’s work from his daily comic strip, Dandy & Company, but an online preview of 2 full issues of his science fiction/fantasy adventure, SCARRED WORLD: The Chronicle of Aegis in 2003 introduced readers everywhere to an exciting new world of cutting edge adventure and fantasy. Now, thanks to Lulu Press., the world’s fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books, Readers can finally hold the entire four issue epic in their hands in blistering full color!

Derrick Fish, writer and artist of the 113 page, full color adventure describes Scarred World:

“Scarred World is a Science Fiction/Fantasy tale centering on the journey, adventures and life of JOSHUA BLOOM.

Joshua Bloom finds his nights plagued by dreams… dreams where he was born the heir to a weapon of near-unimaginable power known as the Aegis, which taps power from a source beyond our universe. In these dreams, he’s also the reluctant leader of an underground resistance movement designed to dethrone the powerful and despotic OBSIDIAN. It’s a burden that has worn heavily upon him, leading him to grow into an angry, bitter young man.

Joshua lives his life in a VERY different world from his dreams. A world where there is on Aegis or Obsidian. OUR world.

But when his dreams become reality, will Joshua be able to accept the burden of saving a Scarred World from a war he didn’t know was his to win?”

The fully collected trade paperback of SCARRED WORLD: The Chronicles of Aegis is available NOW from Lulu Press. for $24.95 plus Shipping.
